Information

The museum was established in 2014 to serve as a window into the region’s authentic cultural and historical heritage, documenting the lives of its ancestors and the traditions, skills, and ways of life passed down through generations. It showcases a diverse array of heritage artefacts, including weaponry, currencies, navigation tools, agricultural implements, handicrafts, and heirlooms that have been traded and passed down through generations. The Abna of Majan Museum features a spacious exhibition hall adorned with intricately decorated fronds, creating a visually stunning ambience. Among its notable exhibits is a remarkable artefact known as "Al-Haymar," an ancient fishing boat of the “Hori” type. This boat derives its name from the star Al-Haymar (also known as Al-Ahimar) and the Al-Haymar winds that blow from the north.
